Replacing my TT tires....

I'm looking at getting 8 ply tires but then got to wondering if I could use LT tires instead of ST tires? I know that I can not use LT tires on a utility trailer but was wondering about a travel trailer. Would like to get something that will last!

I have a 2014 Coleman Expedition CTS-192R. Thanks for the article, good reading but still not sure what to do. If I do go with an ST tire, I'm thinking about going with Goodyear.

nice camper... I changed my tires and went with the goodyear st! MUCH HAPPIER!!! Load range was better, tire was higher and wider, and tire pressure was higher (even though it was the same numbers as on the old tire). Sidewall was rated much higher than the tire that came with the vehicle. Was worth the extra dollars.

I put on the Goodyear's they are US made. The are good tires. One thing if you do not know your trailer weight loaded it is recommended that you go to a public scale (moving companies) and weigh the trailer. I think most tire problems are under inflation and overload. Then you will know if your axle and tires will handle the weight.

I upgraded to 4 GoodYear Endurance 205-75-15 from some Chinese wonders......haha

Under $400 at Discount Tires. They price matched Sams Club. I also got Tire Pressure and Temperature monitors from Amazon.

Too early to tell how good. But better specs all around. Made in USA.

Good Luck!

If you can find an LT tire in your size it would be the best tire for your trailer. ST tires from China are too temperamental while truck tires don't need babying and they don't blow up. I have Michelin Lt's on my trailer (XPS Ribs) and wouldn't consider anything else. They're 4.5 years old, been coast-to-coast a few times, and never a problem with them.

I hope the Good Year Endurance works out but haven't heard if it is good for the long haul.

The first thing to do is to learn the load capacity of the current tires.
Then get the RV on a truck scale when the RV is at it's heaviest (most water, propane, food & clothes.

You MUST have tires capable of supporting the actual measured load.

I have a number of posts on tire loading and weight on my blog. See link in signature.
