Replacing couch inflatable bed
So we've got a 2013 Denali 262rlx. It has a couch that unfolds into a bed configuration with an inflatable mattress stowed behind the couch when not in use.
We have only ever used this twice, and have already gotten a pretty big hold in the bottom of it, from what I'm assuming was it catching on one of the staples or something that holds the underbelly of the couch together.
Anyways, to replace one of these (because they are a special RV size vs. normal air mattress) I'm looking at nearly $200! Considering air mattresses in general are poorly built, easily can get holes in them, lose air overnight when temps change, and require a form of power to inflate, I'm seriously considering just spending that same amount of money (or less) in purchasing a tri-fold memory foam mattress. Ideally I could find something that will fold down to a size I can stow under my queen in the master bedroom, and pull out when we need it.
My question is, have any of you done this? Seems like it would work pretty well, with the exception of finding a place to store it when not in use. I have also noticed that the newer trailers seem to be redesigned with these foam mattresses over air which is a good thing, and my guess is they have found the same issue I'm running into.
Anyways, any input would be appreciated! Thanks!!
