Remove bottom of RV

Have a 242BHSL. New owner, have some freeze damage in fresh water supply (city source). Want to remove bottom of RV and repair water supply line as I do not trust the competence of local repair shop. I see some normal bolts, plus what looks like special fasteners. How are the fasteners removed?

Also, is there a GOOD schematic of the system layouts? I'm a retired USAF pilot and I want to know how things work and where they are located. Thanks in advance.

Be sure to read the last post.

I installed these Trap Flaps in the underbelly to access the dump valves without having to drop the coroplast...

Ya got the answer on the bottom, as far as schematics?

Ain't happening. I don't think they even provide the dealers with them.

Ah, gotta' love the humor!

The freeze damage is where the city water attaches, plus the opposite side where you just fill the water tank. Two separate locations, same problem - As soon as I apply water to either inlet, water starts flowing out the bottom of the RV, apparently running along the top of the underbelly liner (coroplastic?). It looks like I can either remove the liner, or track and fix the problem by taking apart the inside of the RV to trace the leaks. I figure the former is the better course of action, but anyone have inputs on this? I'm mechanically inclined but hate going into a situation blind.

Thanks!

Not really the same. The city water inlet is under pressure and the fresh water fill is a gravity feed.

First I would test my 12v pump to see if the lines held pressure and did not leak... that would be a good thing isolating the leak between the city water inlet and the check valve.

Usually freeze damage is at the fittings. I'm not sure how a gravity fill line froze, except if there was a dip. On both the city water inlet and fresh water fill you should be able to unscrew these and pull them from the outside to inspect. Find the inside access to your hot water heater and that's probably where you'll find the terminus of the city / 12v water supply lines.

Google these on you tube, there are lots of videos for you to get a visual on how they are hooked up.

Good Luck!!!

Two different supplies but same problem - Water leaks out the bottom of the RV running along the coroplast (no inside leaking noted).

How do I access the areas around the two fill ports?
1. I pulled the city water supply but could only pull the line out about 2". I'm assuming the same play on the tank fill side.
2. Doesn't appear to be a way in from underneath as I pulled away some of the coroplast. Unit appears to be fully boxed with some kind of flooring in the way for me to access the valve area.
3. Do I have to get access by pulling cabinets and wallboard?

The gravity feed side really has me baffled as it should just be a straight shot down to the tank. On the city side, I'm assuming possible freeze damage around the one-way check valve. Wish I had a schematic or a cut-away diagram.

I'm not impressed by the local RV repair shop and prefer to fix myself as I can do a better job with just a little bit of knowledge. Thanks for any other inputs.

Your gravity fill port goes in the top of the tank, so depending on where and how the tank is mounted will play into that. The city water feed... who knows. I would start looking for access plates or screwed in cabinet backs in the general area where the port enters the RV. In my case there is an access plate on the bathroom wall. On another one that I had it was behind a bathroom cabinet, but could be accessed by pulling the interior cabinet back.
