Optional Coat on Brand new RV

Hello all, I'm just wondering about this extra expensive option of putting clear coat protectant on fiberglass of a Brand New TT we've purchased. Any inputs if this is worth spending the extra $$$?

I was given the option at a cost of $1000.00. I read on my TT feature sheet that there was already a gel coating applied, so I didn't bother.

I posted this same question in another forum. Some said to skip it and give it a good wax twice a year (cheaper) and some did get it done and the love it. Nothing sticks and is washed with zero effort.

They claim it keeps the TV showroom quality. $1000.00 dunno expensive to me anyways.

I am wondering if there is an aftermarket product that we can do ourselves.

Yes you can get aftermarket stuff to do the same job. You will have to do some research, I can't remember the name now, but when I had my canoe, I used to treat it every spring and it slipped through the water like a hot knife through butter.
