I do work at a facility deep in the sugar cane fields here in florida. They have a RAT problem but they have an even bigger snake problem.

Mice

We had mice at one of our regular long term locations in our 3950 in VA. They were frequenting every space in the kitchen EXCEPT the snack drawer which had a partial bag of Wintergreen Mints kind of spilling out in it.

After snap trapping the mice, and cleaning/bleaching everything, we scattered mints, still in wrappers, throughout the camper. Around the legs, on the feet, inside storage areas, in cabinets and drawers. Five years later we have not had a single mouse in the RV. I even use mints in my garage and attic at home in FL with no mouse prolem so far.

Just my two cents...

They don’t have mice in Callahan. Just cops that love to give speeding tickets!

We live in rural N. Nevada. Pack rats and mice have done damage to our vehicles. Tried everything...everything. Found Rid a Rat during a web search and have had them in our vehicle engine compartments for several years. Damage gone. Basically a strobe light that annoys the heck out of them. Look for their website. I think they might have something that can work in a larger area. Good luck.

Think I’ll invent a strobe light that smells like mint, then let the money roll in, retire, and just RV.

A fella can buy a strobe light kit cheaply. Add an oil warmer to warm the peppermint oil and a little muffin fan. The fan would cool the strobe circuit and spread the scent around.
All cheaper than off the shelf strobe mouse detractor.

Easy peasy and your RV would smell like grandma's house

Those commercial strobe mouse thing cost around 75 or 80 bucks if I remember correctly.

I have a few choices to make one of those for less than half price. I can go with a Zenon strobe kit for 15 duckies and a oil warmer for maybe 20 bucks. With my RV on shore power all the time I can go either 12 volt or 110 volt. I can also use LEDs for strobe in a clear case.
All these building blocks are readily available.

I think I will build a unit to see how it works just for ****s and giggles.
