leaving on two month vacation....

.......and leaving the Voltage at home. The wife and I decided to that a cojuple of months and tour the Sierra Nevada range east and west side. These are some extremely beautiful mountain and the wife has not seen them. The Voltage just won't fix so it gets letf at home until September and then we will take it to utah for another couple of months.

I really love my 1998 Dodge 3500 DRW 4x4 with so many cool mods. It is a truck you have to drive. Not like my 2013 F350. it practically drives itself. So I am going from a 42' foot long fifth wheel with 3 sldes to an 8 1/2' truck camper with not siides.

SO LONG PRETTY Truch and trailer. i promicwe you a srtong glamis season next yaet

A coupe of drinks and I can't type. The post was meant to have read like this.

Going on vacation for two months and leaving the Voltage at home.

The wife and I decided to take a couple of months and tour the Sierra Nevada Range in California both the East and West side. These are some extremely beautiful mountains and the wife has not seen them. Work our way up to Grants Pass and then over to the California coast and down Hwy 1 and 101. See the giant redwoods and some light houses. The Voltage just won't fit so it gets left at home until September and then we will take it to Utah for another couple of months.

I really love my old 1998 Dodge 3500 DRW 4x4 with so many cool mods. It is a truck that you actually have to drive. Not like my 2013 F350 that practically drives itself. So I am going from a 42' foot long fifth wheel with 3 sldes to an 8 1/2' truck camper with no slides.

Good-bye toy hauler. See you in a couple of months. I promise to use you soon.

Have a great tour. Probably wise to leave the big stuff home when heading over to the CA coast. Enjoy!

Not even close. And some of the roads are one lane.

Being a native Californian I've never seen any roads with a 24% grade sign.
Where are those roads at.?

If memory serves correctly. I believe that is hwy 4. It connects hwy 395 via 89 to 49. California 108 has some similar grades. Obviously they are not long pulls just short sections.

Yes... Scenic Shortcut from Central Valley to south of Reno... Large rock outcroppings on tight curves are in addition to the steep grade. Towing nightmare...

Not only steep pitches on Hwy 4, but VERY TIGHT radius turns that are only one lane wide in some sections

I've seen it characterized as both a "mountain" and an "all weather" package - my invoice says mountain. Anyways, its a bunch of options that just increased the price of the unit:

Central vac
Keyless entry
Deluxe flush fit dark tinted windows frameless
Upgraded entrance door
Larger refrig with hardwood front
Skylight in the kitchen
Night shades
Slam latch baggage doors
Rear cargo rack
Tv in the master
Larger 10 gal DSI water heater
Exterior speakers and TV mount

I'm not sure if I captured it all, but thats the best recollection I have. I was also told that there is increased insulation all around the unit e.g. roof, walls, underbelly. Can't verify if that is a fact or not, beside more insulation only further compresses and doesn't increase insulating or R value.

I'm also inclined to believe there is some double dipping between "standard" and "optional" items. At the end of the day, I think there are different packages offered by different dealers in different regions of the country (notice the theme). When I was comparison shopping for this unit, I do feel like I got the "best" price for the one we ended up with.

Have a good time. You're leaving at the right time, it's getting warm out here. Enjoy the trip up north, pretty country.
