Still raining like crazy. The issue now is that crops will drown. they are about ready to harvest and if they have not been harvested by now, they will rot in the field.

Maybe as a hurricane... according to the Weather Channel. They were sooo disappointed.

However is still raining, evacuations are still taking place as rivers, creeks and such rise to record levels, not to mention the 800,000 people currently without power. That number is expected to fluctate as power is turned back on for some and goes out for others. We lost power for ~17 hours Friday night into Saturday morning due to trees down on the lines up the road. Local power co-op did an awesome job getting back on as quickly as they did. Still have my generators and cords in place, because it ain't over yet. We may still lose power... again.

Just north of Fort Bragg, NC in western Harnett County where the Sandhlls and the Coastal Plains come together.

That's a great area. I used to have to travel to Durham for GTE Data Services... that was when RTP was just getting started.

You would not recognize it now. There is a divided four lane from Raleigh to Sanford, divided four lane from Fort Bragg all the way to Greensboro. The area around us was rural up until about 8 years ago. We live on 40 acres, it was originally part of my FIL's 90 acre family farm. He has lived out here for 80 years. We are land locked by family and Fort Bragg so it cannot be developed.

So I guess we have the best of both worlds, country living with suburgatory right next door.
