Lightbulb Got rid of the ST's yesterday

Went with some 235/85R16 Khumos. I already feel better. ;-hap

Can't wait to head out here in a couple weeks and not feel like I have to be staring in the mirrors at the trailer tires more than I'm looking forward!

Bonus, I got $25 a piece for my < 2 year old (by the DOT date code) ST's that I bet didn't have 2,000 miles on them (already had to replace one due to a big ol' bubble). ;--thumbd

Sounds like you got a good deal there rasteck. Nothing worse than not having confidence in the tires you have on. ( even when not pulling a trailer. )

Yup, made sure they balanced them too. Doesn't seem like balancing is the norm for trailer tires.

I guess they figure maybe you won't feel it?

You know it!

Our first trip out (maybe 70 miles one way?) we had a bubble in one tire. That was replaced under warranty but I've had no confidence in the tires since. With the big trip we have coming up I didn't even want to mess with 'em. Plus they're only rated to 65mph which is great in CA but I'll be holding up traffic out on 80.

The truck has Michelin's but I didn't see a necessity to spend that kind of money on trailer tires that *might* see 15K miles in 5 years. Plus the Khumos got some really good ratings.

Just pulling in and then out of the tire shop I could see how much stiffer the sidewalls were on the LT's vs those ST's.

Sounds good rasteck. I'm good at the moment as the Trailer is new but i do need new Tires for the Truck. Just waiting for a good deal somewhere. I will also be looking into having the Trailer wheels balanced..
