Golf Carts... Let's Talk About Them

I dont know how large your washer and dryer is, i assume it is a combo unit or stacked.. but we have a dishwasher in ours hooked to the washer hookup. I have no problem carrying either piece of equipment but not together..your golf cart with a rear seat will fit.. I pull the pins and roll the extension on the cart upwards.. its kinda hard to explain but the rear platform for the feet will pull upwards and i hook a bungie to the platform and to the top corner post.. it gives me the clearance i need in length.. as long as it fits over to the edge of the glass sliding door your good. The washer dryer should sit in the corner from the glass door to the wall.. If you ever get one you will say... how did i ever get along without one..

Tanman... do you have the 3-season doors? I installed them last winter, and they eat up a good 8-10 inches of clearance from the ramp door. That's my concern on length.

My W/D is a Splendide combo unit that measures 2' wide, and sits 2' off the wall (to give clearance for the water inlet & drain hoses).

no i have only the ramp door and a pull down screen. When I pull my cart in i stop about 6 inches from the glass door. My rear ramp will not close so on my cart the floor part of the rear seat where passengers would put their feet is on pivot pins.. I raise up the rear part which tilts up towards the front seat and shortens the overall length of the cart by at least a foot to 18 inches.. It makes enough room where the rear of the cart misses the rear door by at least a foot. The front of the cart does not extend to the right beyond the glass sliding door. you will have plenty of room there. I set my brake and run a lock down strap across the floorboard of the cart.. it never moves.

i thought i wanted a ez-go with the AC volt.. heard some bad things about the controller , so i checked on pricing to replace it . 2-3 years ago , but if i remember right it was 800-$1,500. scared me off, i bought a lifted club car and have been very happy with it. ( fits in my 16 voltage, 11' garage, no problem) i still think the yamaha looks the best. nowhere NEAR the power of club car. electric was the only way for me, free power while camping..most, or all, places we go are electric only..

I agree...most parks only allow electric.. The only problem i have experienced with mine is the MCOR failure twice. Apparently Club car knows its a problem part and upgraded it several times. Of course you only get a newer version when u buy it..

Ok guys... reviving this old thread. I think I've found a decent cart... but since this would be my first one, I would like the opinion of the masses before I pull the trigger.

NICE. We have an EZE-GO. You need to carefully ck the height!! Ours has oversize tires and a small lift. I needed to cut about 6" out of the uprights so it would clear the bunk beds in our Voltage 3950. Keep the extended roof but if you cut the uprights, put a swim noodle on the rear edge for head protection.
Good luck. We take ours almost everywhere unless we're going 4 wheeling. Then the Teryx 4 gets to go.

Yeah, I've taken all of the measurements (I think!). I've removed the lower "roll-over" sofas from the Happi-Jack bunk, and just use the upper for storage... so I've got that extra clearance. In the "up" position, I have approximately 80" available (a couple more inches if I REALLY needed it). Since I travel solo, I don't really have a need for the extended canopy... and it measures 84" from the crown of it to the floor. On the other hand, the standard canopy only measures 78" from the crown to the floor... so I wouldn't need to raise the bunk to the full travel height.

I was mainly wondering if the price sounds fair, as I've never priced these things before. In a way, it almost seems kinda silly to sink nearly $6,500 into something I'm just going to run around the campground with... but compared to the prices for new ones, I guess it's in the ballpark.

Did it have the winch on before it was refurbished, or is that just a gimmick? I would NEVER buy a used golf cart with a winch on the front, they ain't made for trail bombing.

I'm kind of in the market myself, so I'm watching your thread. Like you, I've never had one before, and again, would only use it to take my lab cruising around the campground. Yours looks really nice. On the bit of price checking I've done, they are cheaper down south, like in Florida than they are up north here in Chicago. I guess it's a market thing. Pull the trigger!

Having slept on it overnight, I'm torn. Logically, I just can't justify sinking that much into a used camp-crawler... even if it is refurbished. If it were street-legal, that might make it more palatable... but, wow.

I'm just thinking if I'm gonna shell out that kind of coin, I may as well add a bit more and get a new one sometime down the road.

I told the dealer I'd call him today... but unless he's willing to come down a bit more, think I'm gonna look around a bit more.

I had one and got rid of it for a side by side. I'd like another one but it wouldn't be a raised one since I had to remove the roof to get it in the garage.
