Gasoline leaking from generator tank

So the other day, I moved my V3600 about 50 yards. As soon as I disconnected the truck I smelled gas....strongly. I traced the smell to the rear of the toy hauler to find the front tank under the garage was dripping from what looked like an over flow hose. The tank gauge read 2/3 full. When I loosened the gas cap, gasoline sprayed out from under the cap telling me the tank some how got pressurized. It never happened before or since that day, but I am still puzzled what caused it?? Maybe i can prevent from happening again. Anyone ever run into this situation??

The vent on the cap must be plugged?

Mine will leak from hose coming from the box I am assuming is a charcoal cannister on occasion. Dealer claimed they didn't have the capability to drop the tank and to return to Dutchmen. I intend to do some investigating this spring as I prep the rig for the season.

I have had fuel spill from that tank only once, chalked it up to being my fault. We were backing into a pretty onerous spot one evening, backed down a berm with the trailer listing heavily towards the filling side. Once we abruptly leveled out, the wife said that the trailer was leaking and smelled of gas. I checked it later on it had dried up and has not happened since. I had a half tank of fuel at the time.
