Correction! Propane tanks ON or OFF
Live and learn!
Do you travel with your propane tanks ON or OFF? If ON, do you leave fridge running? Second try at a POLL!

Yes... and yes.
Unless I'm traveling thru a tunnel where I must close the valves on my tanks, I always travel with them open... and I always leave the refrigerator in the AUTO mode, which switches to propane when not I'm not connected to shore power or running the generator.

Always have and most likely always will, run with open tanks and fridge on. IF the system is properly designed, installed and maintained it is safe to use.

Frank:
Yes and yes. The systems were designed to have the gas on and the frig running. You may have to turn the gas off at select road locations where they require you to turn the tanks off, like tunnels as ATCguy has stated. Additionally, I leave the frig in AUTO mode so when I disconnect shore power, then gas is primary. And likewise when I arrive at my destination and replug into shore power, electric is primary. Tanks are turned off when put into storage.

Propane tanks ON or OFF
On while traveling so the food stays cold. Like others I leave the fridge on auto so that it switches to electric when on shore power or generator.

The new ones are not like the fridges of the 70's and 80's which used a pilot light I believe, these new ones are electric ignite.. I run with them open ( of course for some reason last year ran with one open and one closed and ran out of gas somewhere in Colorado and my Maine lobster spoiled ( along with my apple cider donuts and some breads from a orchard my cousin works at, Was not a happy " Camper" when I figured that out...

Frig has to keep running, right?
I thought this was part of the point? I know its primarily for places that don't have electric, but keeping the frig running and food cold is one of the conveniences of the extra cost for the dual power, isn't it? I haven't owned my tt for a year yet so I could be wrong, but I kind of thought it was one of the perks. Is there a reason one would turn them off?
If my husband answered this he would probably say frig off, tanks off, lol.

Pretty amazing. General consensus is that just about everybody travels with the propane on and the fridge running!
BYTchick, lcv800 think I suck at polls LOL!
Almost have to agree with them. My first attempt was pretty lame... IF you click on the number of folks that voted, you can see who they are and how they voted.
