Cargo locking slam door latches

I am trying to locate either the manufacturer or a supplier that I can purchase locking slam door latches that match what is currently on my 2015 Denali 29RKS.

I have attached a picture. Thanks

In your search if you find keyless entry ones like a keypad or something. Let me know. I'm searching for those right now.

I can find a lot for the main door, but not the storage doors.

found 2 vendors but

both say they "are not for sale" whatever that means.

Trekwood RV Parts and RV Parts Country.

I have searched the web and never had so much trouble locating a part as this one. You are right, plenty of entry door replacements for this model but so far no one appears to stock and sell retail the cargo slam door latches. I even called Dutchmen and they referred me to a couple places and neither stocked or sold that latch.

Still looking. I will share my results if I get any.

All of the latches on our Denali are from Bauer I think. Could be wrong.

Thanks to that info I found the regular latches there. http://www.bauerproducts.com/product/bp-20/

Unfortunately it does not look like they have keyless ones. I did email them asking if you could use entry mechanisms for the hatches.

The ones that the OP is looking for are the same ones that Forest River/Coachmen uses. My key says Global Link on it. They provide latches for the RV industry. I didn't see the specific latch on their website. However I have both locking and non-locking latches on my RV, so yes they do make them. I would try contacting RV Locks and More and see if they can help.

Making Progress!

OK, thanks everyone. Here is what I have found out. The baggage doors for the Denali's are made by a company called Challenger Door.

Challenger Door

The latch on the model 725 door is a match and is called NOVA. So I am assuming that is the manufacturer (NOVA). I emailed them for more information so keep your fingers crossed.

Apparently the Cargo doors are made by Challenger Door. The model door I have is 600 series. They show the matching latches I need which are called NOVA. I assumed that is the Manufacturers name. I emailed Challenger for more information. Hopefully they respond.

MikeF, I just bought a Bauer NE keyless entry lock and latch. Look up the videos on youtube... pretty cool, the keyless entry system just locks the deadbolt!!!! NOT the handle...still need the key for that. The cool thing is when you go swimming, for a walk, or if company is coming and your not there they can get into the rig.

Thanks everyone. I have found 2 vendors, Champion Doors inside sales and RV Locks and more (they originally said no, but I just got an email from them saying they located them and should have them available next week.) Unfortunately I cannot request a key number. You get what they have. I took mine apart, is there an easy way to remove the locking cylinders? I can order the same ones I have and then all my keys would match. It looks like the locking cylinder is pressed into the latch? I did not want to force it and break the latch. Anyone ever remove the cylinder?

Thanks!

I got my Bauer NE from rvupgradestore.com for $169.00... Hope this helps!!! Including the strike plate there are only 6 screws... Not hard at all with the video on YouTube to watch it's a breeze!!!

Waiting for them to arrive

So I did purchase the locking door latches from Challenger Doors. They make their own cargo door latches which is why they were so hard to find. You can purchase them through their inside sales department. The locking version is 20.00 and comes with one key, plus tax and shipping which for me in Oregon was 7.25.

This adventure is over. I am happy to say everyone I worked with at Challenger was easy and nice. If I am every in Nappanee, IN. I am going to stop by and hope to meet Myron.

Thanks everyone. It looks like this story has a happy ending.

Thanks for the update. Interestingly enough, my new Coachmen Concord has Challenger doors and locks on it. I have both locking and non-locking latches. I am going to add the contact info to my camper logs.

The latches on that Denali are Chalenger brand and can be purchased from the following link:

Challenger Nova Baggage Door Latch. Locking Black

They can key them to your existing keys too.

Got a picture of your latch? Any tags on the inside of the doors? Markings on the locks? The manufacturers change things up from year to year with little or no documentation.

I just changed all 3 of mine (2 basement doors, and exterior TV door) to keyless/number-pad RVlocks this past week to match my entry doors. As such, I’ve got 3 of them that I was just gonna toss out. They’re off a Voltage, so not sure if they’re the same type you need though.
