Carefree (electric) Awning

OK - DH is out washing the rig and asked if there is a trick to lowering the awning arms.

I say - yes push the button and they should move - I know that 3 holes is the max difference from side to side.

He says - nope don't move! Is there a trick to moving them?????

You can adjust them either extended or not. If extended it helps to support the lower arm somewhat. That takes off some of the tension of the mechanism. If not extended the parts should slide, I say should but not a guarantee.

I little lubricate sprayed into the main channel won't hurt and will probably let it drop to the next the hole.

They have a mind of their own and will slide into the next hole before you know it if you hold your head just right, stand on one leg and hum 'On The Road Again'.

I wanted to be singing "On The Road Again" tonight...........but we had an ambulance run to the city (3+ hours round trip and clean up). Not looking like we will be getting out of her before the morning...but at least we will be away and that is a much needed thing right now!

Will try standing on one leg and humming in the AM - thanks!

Same topic, awnings. Different question.

Our awning is 21', way to big in my mind and we don,t like the sag in the middle. And we do know that there are add on fixes, which we also do not like.

OK here is the question, does any body have 2 shorter awnings on the curb side. Ours is a two door (bedroom and living).

Most of the time we don't bother even extending the awning. But on the days when we may want to we are thinking maybe an option of over one door or the other or maybe both, if we're not talking.

So now the $.64 question anybody done it, pros, cons, other than there goes another hit to the retirement savings.
