Dawnie,

Nope not a Canadian thing, just never found any hydrants in the boondocks.

No mod, it's just a practice that we adopted, because the majority of our camping is boondocking.

We do our dishes in a dishpan, that water goes into the flush bucket. The rinse water for the dishes goes down the drain to the gray tank. By doing this the tanks fill at about the same rate and I don't have to pack up and find a sani-dump.

Somewhere, on the forum there is a thread that shows a mod to flush the toilet with water out of the gray tank. Just not worth the time, effort and expense to plumb it for me. It's just one more thing that can screw up.

Modern technology is a wonderful thing, until it screws up. I grew up in the bailing wire and binder twin era and could always find a fix to get me home.

That is a relative modern invention compared to baling wire...

Mike,
Aaron,

I tried that duct tape stuff once. Couldn't get it to stick to anything but my fingers!

I did forget to add the roll of electrical tape though.
