Anyone Know About Ignitor Problems?

I have an older travel trailer, a 1996 Classic and the inside ignition switch to heat the water won't go on. It was very windy yesterday where I live, but I don't think the water works off a gas ignitor. (I think it's an electric fuse that triggers the propane to kick in and heat the water.)

It's an Atwood system model no. gc6a-7e and a 6.2 gallon capacity.

Your heater must have a standing pilot then instead of electronic ignition. They can get blown out so I'd check there after I check for ample gas supply.
In the meanwhile I'll peruse my brain to try and remember how the old ones operated.

Hi, Lynn

Try this. How to Troubleshoot the Atwood G6A 7E | eHow

Check to make sure you have a good ground, with out it your DSI won't give you a good spark. I had the same problem and it cleared up when I put a new ground from the tank to the frame.
