Finding two dead house batteries after unpluging from shore line.A book that I have suggested to unhook the ground from batteries put a multi tester in line and read 12.5-13vdc is what it read.I tkink it is the LP leak detecter. Your Thoughts?

A fully charged 12 volt battery(rested) will read 12.6 volts. A lp detector will discharge a battery. I would install a battery shutoff if unhooking it is a hassle.
