What's this green wire on the camper rail for?
I have a 1995 Dutchmen 1204 that I am rebuilding the roof. On the front driver's side, just in front of the lift post a green wire (not cable) that is screwed into the top rail of the camper. The other end of the wire is a loop that obviously a screw goes through. The wire is about 52 inches long. What I can't figure out is what that wire is for. Green is usually ground but there are no electrical appliances, fixtures, etc any where near that wire. The only other thing I can think is that it gets screwed onto the roof bracket so, when the roof is fully raised, the wire is at its full length, signifying that the roof is all the way up. 52 inches is just shy of the lift post maximum height. Is this correct? If so, why a wire and not a cable? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
