The open up cabinets are a pain. Made flat sticks to, prop the doors upwards

Isn't it sad that we spend as much as we do on our trailers and can't have the cabinet doors propped open without us doing it? I installed spring loaded metal supports on each cabinet door. Less than $6 each but obviously too much for Dutchmen to install.

That is $18+ per trailer plus labor. If they make 6,000 trailers a year that would be $108,000, nice profit margin. Probably the same reason they don't have any QC to speak of.

Yeah but, the margin profit aside, don't forget they have to be installed and those cabinet stiles are pretty small for the blind installers to do their magic.

I purchased spring loaded rods from CW they cost a few dollars, were easy to install and getting anything out of the overhead cabinets is a lot easier.

Looks like something I would slap down and bust myself in the head with.

my overhead doors are pretty small so I will probably use the spring loaded ones...

I also bought the spring loaded strong arms online for about $3.50 apiece. I even converted the cabinet over the sink to upward opening from swing to keep from smacking my face into it when the wife left it open.

I just bought a baggage door catch (like the ones for the outside compartments) and mounted it to the ceiling. At least in my tiny trailer it works perfectly! Easiest install ever.

I first tried those brass folding gadgets to hold mine open, but the stress on the composite cabinet frames was too much. Took those off and glued the wood chips back in. I then installed the baggage compartment door latches and they really work great... really easy install too !!!!
