I installed Lexan in the inside groves on the screen door, used Velcro to hold the free ends in place. Looks great and now acts as a storm door. Much lighter and you can use AC..Bought 2 sheets in Home Depot 30x36 for about $50 cut with fine circle saw and did curves with sabre saw..

I did the same thing a while back. My only problem is that the Lexan rattles in the groove. Anyone have any ideas for something to fill-in the gaps so it doesn't rattle?

Might work.....I actually tried drinking straws pressed into the gap for a couple days but they wouldn't stay in place well.

What about that stuff that holds mesh screen in the window frames? It is small in diameter and flexible so it could be removed if needed. Probably cheap by the foot. Or maybe some para-cord would stay in the track? Sounds like a trip to the hardware store is in your future.

X2 screen spine, comes in various sizes, so should be able to find one that works for you.

Another option is the car door edge guard if it will fit the track, comes in multiple colors and it'll give you a nice finished edge to the Lexan.

If all else fails use a little Mortite Rope caulk..It is like clay is moldable and will stay in place , also is easily removed...
