Satellite HD

I just wrote this in another thread, but I thought it would be a good idea to share in Modifications. Might help someone with the same problem I had.

I needed to get HD to the bedroom and outside, so here is my solution.

My trailer had two outside coax connections, cable and satellite. The satellite coax runs directly to the living room (Main) TV with a single outlet, nowhere else. The Cable coax goes to the main TV and splits to the bedroom, outside outlet and to the roof antenna.

My Satellite setup is HD, so the problem was trying to get HD to the bedroom or outside from the main TV. I tried a RF modulator, put the signal from the receiver to the cable coax and connected to the bedroom TV. It worked, but I couldn't do it in HD and the picture wasn't very good.

So my options were to add a receiver, or get a HDMI cable from the main TV to the Bedroom TV. I didn't want to have to pay the monthly fee for a added receiver, so I was left with the possibility of fishing a HDMI cable through the ceiling. Then I found a wireless HDMI system. The Transmitter has a pass through HDMI, so the receiver HDMI goes to the transmitter then the HDMI to the TV. The Receiver is small enough to mount behind the bedroom TV and gives the HD via a HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. I have a RF remote and can control the Satellite receiver from anywhere in the trailer or outside. The only problem is that both TV's have to have the same thing on, you can't watch two different things at the same time. But its normally just me and my wife and isn't a problem.

The Picture is great and I am very happy with the ease of the installation versus fishing a HDMI wire through the ceiling. Plus we could move the TV anywhere outside if we wanted to.

Here what I installed.

Nyrius ARIES Matrix Wireless HDMI model NAVM6

I got it on sale from Newegg for 149.00 It is normally 299, but it goes on sale every couple of weeks for the 149.

I am sure there are other models that work, but this is what I ended up with.
