Pat, nice job, because it will move a lot with movement, try and get a strap to hold it from moving, B/cords have to much play....Did you mount it to 1 X 1 wood behind the walls?

Hey Rich, Thanks.. I used a stud finder around the decal that located the area for mounting the tv.. It was a little off, but I located the edges of wood behind the wall board.. Using 1 1/4" by 5/16" lag screws, as they say in the south, It ain't goin nowhere. The mount extends 20 inches, so I don't want to take chances.. I agree the bungee is a little too loose for my comfort. I looking for a decent looking strap to fit the snap in the photo. Its about 1" wide. I would mount it so it would fit horizontally about mid screen and be able to be drawn tight after connecting the snap.. just need to find the right width and length strap. Hmmmm the straps on my old backpack look about right....

There ya go, you got that mod itch sctatched now. Only problem the more you scratch it the more it itches.

You can find the webbing in most fabric stores. When you make your strap keep the buckle towards the back edge of the TV, even though they plastic those buckles can do damage to the screen.

I'm still trying to figure out a mechanical fastener for my TV mount, so it locks down tight. Them straps and me have a love hate relationship. I love the fact that they are easy to adjust and snap together, I hate the fact that no matter how I try they still manage to loosen off on me.

Thanks for the input HD,
Having scratched that itch, just got me itchin to do more. Now if I can pull off the mods, I'd like to do, without breaking anything, that would be something.

I also agree with you about the straps working loose.
I was looking at using spring loaded cabinet or small gate latches to anchor the articulated mount.

Figured I could put a 1/4" steel rod across the back of the tv mounting plate, and then install two latches, one on either side of the wall mount, that would grab the rod, when you pressed the tv against the wall.

I decided that the strap was a softer restraint that wouldn't transmit, as much of the shock, while in transit.
Also worried about the shock in transit working the latch mounting screws out of the wall..

Besides ... the straps are a lot quicker and simpler to install .
My lazy side is showing
Didn't even think about a fabric store for the strap.
Thanks & All the best.

I would use velcro, instead of buckles.

my first mod!

Hi Aaron, while I have to agree Velcro does work, I just feel better with buckles, cleats, clips and mechanical fasteners, especially over the long haul..
I like velcro to keep stuff from sliding but not for hanging. Guess I'm old school. I just love it clamped down secure. The funny part is you may be absolutely right!
