Having scratched that itch, just got me itchin to do more. Now if I can pull off the mods, I'd like to do, without breaking anything, that would be something.
I also agree with you about the straps working loose.
I was looking at using spring loaded cabinet or small gate latches to anchor the articulated mount.
Figured I could put a 1/4" steel rod across the back of the tv mounting plate, and then install two latches, one on either side of the wall mount, that would grab the rod, when you pressed the tv against the wall.
I decided that the strap was a softer restraint that wouldn't transmit, as much of the shock, while in transit.
Also worried about the shock in transit working the latch mounting screws out of the wall..
Besides ... the straps are a lot quicker and simpler to install .
