Leaping into solar!

Ok, more like dipping my toes in at the moment. I picked up the Renolgy 100W starter kit with 30amp Wanderer charge controller. I’m looking for idea’s on installing it permanently on the roof? For now as you can see I’ve put the charge control in the front storage area and the panel on the roof at the front. My thought was to run the wire up from there. Just above the controller is a wardrobe in the bedroom and above that is an overhead storage above the bed. From there is the roof and solar panel. It’s a lot of drilling and holes but a direct shot up. Is that what you all would do? Not afraid to drill holes, I just want to be sure it’s the best option.
Also, when I went to screw the panel down to the roof with the supplied screws they initially bit in the just fell right to the bottom. Not secure at all! Are there better screws I should use?would this with some Dicor self leveling lap sealant secure it enough?
Can’t seem to attach pictures right now? I’ll try again from my computer.
Thanks!
Randy
