Home Made Stabilizer
I've been looking at the JT Strong-arm stabilizer and the Steadyfast stabilizer setups for our 5th wheel. To me it seems incredibly simple to build your own stabilizer.
I'm a millwright so I do a ton of welding and fabricating at work. I was looking at a bunch of junk in our scrap pile at work the other day and dang near found enough odds and ends to try building my own setup at a fraction of the cost.
Just wondering if anyone here has tried such a thing and what the results were.
If there is enough interest I will document my build well with pictures and post a "how-to" of some type on here. We are putting our trailer in the barn for winter storage this weekend about 175 miles from our house so I won't be installing my setup until the next time we venture over to visit my in-laws. But I've taken a bunch of measurements so I have an idea what I need to come up with.
Let me know if there is interest and I'll take lots of pictures and write up a material list as I go.
