Garage cabinet

I spent the weekend building a cabinet in the garage in our 3305. It wraps the washer/dryer and includes an enclosure for Amelia's litter box. Makes pretty good use of the wall between the interior doors. The garage is used mostly as a dinette area and, during the day, my wife's art studio. Still room to park a four wheeler or motorcycle if need be. I even managed to match the stain to the factory veneer finish. Just need to install the TV, WiFi Ranger and Cellular Booster against the wall inside.

There's no limit to the imagination and skills of the guys around here.
THAT's why the manufacturers get away with their shortcomings? Because all you folks need is a starting point to finish the mission.

Simply amazing.

Not to pile on the RV manufacturers, but I am building an Experimental Kitplane right now. RV manufacturers could learn a lot from that industry in terms of customer support and the cottage industries that can be created based on client modifications. I doubt they ever will. At least I have it on the aviation side....arguably more important!

We used to build our own RV's...

I helped build a couple using plans from Glen-L. Somewhere I have pictures of them. Helped build a houseboat from their plans too. The new units are much more complicated and better suited to a factory built environment. Unfortunately the workforce skill levels haven't caught up.

I don't know what the answer is to the current state of the RV industry. It is interesting (in a perverse way) to see what they are doing and wait for the implosion. Dutchmen was one, that if they had not been under the Thor umbrella and had the Keystone management available to take over, was headed for the crap pile.

As gloomy as it appears, Aerolite is a Dutchman product. And although I can easily agree the collective evidence is overwhelmingly supportive of our complaints, I'm still impressed with the overall design and implementation of my 213RBSL. I do give credit to a thorough PDI by my dealer as a contributing factor to my lack of issues after taking ownership. And I haven't subjected it to the wear & tear of the road. But I have lived it in for 200 days straight. 24/7.

I actually expected more trials and challenges.

Well obviously you got a "defective" unit and you need to return it to the factory for correction!

Every now and again one slips through, maybe those are the ones built when management is actually looking? Kind of like workers that all of a sudden start working safely when OSHA shows up?

I have to Second Snakebitten's comment! Our 213RBSL has been living up to (and exceeding) our expectations!

I must have received one of those "defective" ones too But I ain't returning it

We had a few oddities right from the factory but [knock on wood], everything seems to be working well now. We've already pulled this thing over 3500 miles since July.
