No I haven't, but every new Montana 5th wheel that was at Quartzsite this past weekend had them.

There is another one similar to it call The Solid Step by Lippert. Both seem like a great way to go.

have those steps on our Voltage 3800... They are not heavy, or hard to set-up, but they ARE bulky and unless you plan on keeping the deck out all weekend or for extended periods of time they are kind of a hassle...

So, you have a toy hauler. And your steps are only on your deck. Have you thought about putting them on your main entry?

Why a pain? They seem pretty eady to setup.

They are easy to setup, it's just the hauling around, bulky-ness of them and when we have the toys with us in the back we have to dedicate space for the bulky steps... if we don't have enough the toys, and we plan on keeping the deck open all weekend/week they are great!!!

I quit using mine as well for the rear deck. They're okay once they are up, but a PITA to carry and store in between. I carry a small aluminum step ladder that I put off the rear deck that does double duty when I wash the truck, etc.

I think we're mixing two different products here. The original post asked about MORryde's The Stepabove. This is a flip up step for your entry door, not your deck. It claims to be much more stable than the typical under the door flip down steps. I saw them at an RV show last week, but didn't understand how they stored. Looking at MORryde's website, seems pretty ingenious. As we sometimes camp on un-level sites, including where we store our 5th wheel, I'm curious how they work. Also curious if anyone has installed them, how complicated the install was.

We saw these at an rv show recently and I must say they were very impressing. They just flip up into your entry way and have a locking bar that holds it in place while driving. Talked about getting them for our voltage.

Not mixing up. MORRYDE has both entry steps and tor hauler deck steps. Virtually the same just different lengths. Also Lippert also has a solid entry step called the Solid One.

(I'm talking about toy hauler deck steps) no a pain to set up. but most of the time i have something els in the garage that i am worried about scratching. maybe needs to be a bracket on the wall to hold them . AND, that goes for the loft and bunk ladder too! the legs do adjust for uneven ground.

I finally got the Lippert Solid Step. Installation is a breeze. It takes less than 30 minutes to install. Just need a tape measure, pencil, screw gun, and a wrench. They a great and I don't know why all travel trailers and 5th wheels don't come with them.

We noticed many new 5th wheels at the local RV show had these. My first thought was that it would make it almost impossible to get into my RV. The garage I store it in doesn't have enough room to fold the steps out.
My daughter also noticed that when you flip them up, all the dirt/sand/grass on the steps end up on the floor inside the RV.
For these two reasons, I'll keep my fold out steps. I admit they are nice and sturdy though.

We are looking at Solid Step; however, the question arose as to whether there was sufficient wood in our 2017 Denali to hold the screws properly. As I understand it those floors are bonded foam, Luan and then vinyl flooring. Did you have any problem with your Kodiak flooring and the Solid Step? Lippert has a new model, with lift assist that requires a backer board under the floor in order for the screws to have something to bite into. That sounds like a huge hassle given the enclosed underbelly these new rigs have. The older version with no lift assist did not have the backer board requirement. What’s your experience with your install?

I saw a few units at the RV show and wondered the same thing. The were really nice, comfortable and solid. But I asked myself, how will these effect me when I’m traveling? Great product, I really liked them, just wouldn’t work for me either.

We put the moryde steps on our triton 5th wheel
Very adjustable even for uneven ground
4 steps down very sturdy. when we fold them
In we put a towel down first no big deal
Keep in mind if you keep it in storage they
Take more side room to open.
Very happy with ours very sturdy

What kind of flooring do you have in your rig? I’m just wondering if my 2017 Denali has enough plywood in the floor for the installation screws to have something to hold on to.
