I attached a flag pole mount to my pin box, and use a banner style American flag. The banner style is like that of garden flags and slips over the pole rather than the grommet type of flag that requires attachment at the top and bottom. The pictures are an example of I am trying to describe, since I do not have a picture of my actual rig.

Pin box. I used one of those holders that have an adjustable angle with a wing nut. I see no reason why mounting on the ladder wouldn't be OK...

Camping World sells an extension pole and flag kit that attaches to the ladder. I've been using one for a few years, works great. Here's a photo.

I always mount mine to the ladder, set it on top step and secure it to ladder rails with 3 strips of velcro. Always the highest flier in any campground.

Does that have a pulley at the top so you can hoist it up/down? Is that the 22ft kit?

polesandholders.com has some pretty awesome stuff and ways to hang a flag as well as lighting it up!!! I bought the strobe light so the kids can find the rig at night.

It's the two-piece extension pole model from CW. No pully. Friend has the taller pole from CW, that might be what you're thinking but it doesn't have a pulley either.

Flag and holder found on ebay
Moved my flag and holder to the front of my Voltage 3950. I usually mount on the rear gate latch struts, but on really windy days would have some clearance issues. Purchased the holder and pole on ebay , seen there are now longer poles available.

Cale that is a ladder mount flag pole holder. This guy is on to something. I didn't like what mine was doing to the ladder on a breezy day. May have to pull mine back off the "junk" shelf in the barn.

I like that pin box mount. Like Thom we keep ours on the ladder, always the highest which makes for interesting raising and lowering in windy conditions.

Is that where you will be mounting them? I am contemplating getting the satellite dish mount for the other side. Would be nice if auto level had my satellite bracket plum every time....contemplating that.
