012 Voltage - No silverware tray!

I guess the manufacture thinks everyone eats with their fingers or something. Another early mod to our Voltage was a silverware drawer to the right of the sink.
Dutchmen puts a nice drawer there but it's about 6 inches deep and no dividers.
I thought I would just go to Wally World and get a wooden divider and stick it in there and we would be good to go. Nope, not that easy. After looking thru a bunch of RV and Kitchen supply stores without finding a tray that was a slide-in fit, I went back and got a cheepy bamboo tray at W-mt that was narrower than the drawer. Then a short search in the shop located an Oak scrap from and earlier project. I cut a couple of rails to screw/glue below the top edges of the drawer on each side. Pulled out the table saw and cut a couple of L shaped runners to fill the space on each end. 24 hrs later after another screw/glue session and I had a sliding silverware drawer that would pick out. O ya and a touch of finish to kind of match it up.

That looks awesome. Our last TT drawer was hard to find something to fit. I got lucky and found one at a dollar store that worked. Our GJ has house sized drawers so now I have to get a regular one. The one from our TT will slide around inside the drawer. How smart you are to make one.

Great idea. I guess it is time to go to the basement shop.
