As to a hybrid - We haven't even explored that. After the camper and Titan are paid off, that might be a good replacement for the wife's car. Too far off to tell! See you on the road!

Dunno about 10 more years, if it gives me 5 I will be happy. This one has 232,000 miles on it. Been maintained, but it has some age on it. It is also the 4.6l V-8, but it does have the factory tow package which is a plus for longevity. I had a 1997 F150 with a 4.2l V-6 with factory tow, that one was a work truck and went around 325,000 before it finally retired.

The hybrid is interesting. We have been getting right at 45 mpg with her current driving, have about a 1000 miles on it so far. I like the Fusion platform to begin with and Ford seems to have really gotten the hybrid part right on this one too. It ties with the Honda for top marks in the that class of hybrid. I have been driving Fords for a long time, my wife got hooked on them when she married me.

Here is the current rig ready to roll to VA last week...

Good trip, just cut it short by a day or so because of the rain that was coming in.

Aaron

Only problem when I updated my tow vehicle was then I knew I could tow something bigger. You know the rest of the story

Good choice on the Titan. I love mine and have never had a problem. It tows great for a 1/2 ton. It will be a huge upgrade from your Dakota for towing the Coleman.
We did a trip from St. Louis to the Smokey Mountains and I got about 9 MPG. Had no trouble in the mountains.

Sure looks to me like that TITAN wouldn't even know that Colemans back there.

I with you!!! Not -2F here in St. Louis but close enough.

I did not know that you could pull a load like that with the Land Cruiser... Nice set up.. And I see you still had room for the dog

Yea, we are not known for traveling lite! 6 bikes, 2 surfboards, 2 kids(with their stuff) and a dog!
Our Land Rover is rated to 7700Lbs and the 240BHSL came in (dry) at 4800. With all our "stuff" I'm sure we are near it's limit but we can cruise down I-15 to Cali with no troubles at all. We've also pulled over Vail Pass here in Colorado. We held about 45MPH and the truck had no trouble. Just couldn't push the speed beyond that as the RPM's would skyrocket.

Me too. I'm a member of FB, and it opened right up, but your video did not. Is it set to private?

Well, that only took five months! LOL. Just put a down payment on a new Crossroads Z-1 with bedroom in the back, living room in the front, big fridge, oven included and a big bath with a tub. Did good on the purchase price and on the trade in. You guys started this by showing the new Dutchmen website. When I saw the model I wanted was discontinued, I opened my horizons a little. The Coleman was a great little guy, and since it is unique in it's small size, I'm sure CW won't have a problem selling it! I'll hang around here for a while until I get more comfortable with the Crossroad forums. We should have the new trailer here by Friday night!
