Favorite Campsites

Gualala River Redwood Park, Gualala, CA, Site 25, Water & Electric (Hook-ups are not conveniently located in all sites. Extension cords and about 50 ft. hose needed for some sites. Best to be prepared so you don't end up paying the excessive prices they charge at the park so you are able to use your hook-ups.)

Sorry I don't have a better picture. This is site 403, North Pines in Yosemite Valley. It's a huge site, for the valley, the only problem is there isn't really any shade from the trees. In the summer it can get really hot, but spring and fall are wonderful. The site is rated for a RV up to 35', but it was tight getting our 27' into it because of the rocks along the road and on the corners of the site. We can't fit into it in our new trailer.

Re: Favorite Campsites

I have more, I wasn't going to post them, but my husband twisted my arm. There are so few sites we can fit into now in the California State Parks and Beaches as well as national parks that I hesitate to let the cat out of the bag.

This is one of our favorite places, Seacliff State Beach. We love the view and the beach access. It's also very close to Monterey. We're in site 5, but the site numbers don't really matter because all the sites are the same, except for the accessible site, which is completely paved.

If you're lucky you can see pods of dolphins swimming along the shore.

This is our other favorite place, Yosemite National Park. We're in a double site which requires there be at least 7 people in your group, but no more than 12.

Gualala River Redwood Park, site 42 (River view). This is my favorite site in the park, but the hook-ups are on the wrong side of the trailer, so you need an extension cord and an extra long hose.

Gualala - View from site 42

This is site 62 at Colter Bay RV Park in Grand Teton NP. We loved out site and this campground! Full hook-ups within the park boundaries, couldn't ask for more! The site was a short walk to the marina and a swimming area as well as to the store and visitor's center. The kids spent countless hours at the lake throwing rocks and swimming!
