Canoe Camping Clearwater and Azure lake 2009

Using a water taxi to get to your destination so you can paddle back.
Canoe camping at its best...sleeping on a 3/4 inch of foam with a PFD as a pillow, carrying all our stuff to camp, portaging, ( carry the canoe on your back lucky this one is made of Kevlar and only 40 lbs ) paddling into the wind, setting up a small tent in the dark with a head lamp on, setting up tarps in the wind and rain...that fun then.....but I am way tooo old for that now.

Imsteck..yes it was worth the soreness and pain...we had a lot of laughs as well. We spent 5 nights on this canoe trip...mostly flat water paddling...had to run a river but it wasn't too fast flowing. Have you folks tried canoe camping?

Unfortunately, we've never canoe camped. It looks like it would be a lot of fun and I would enjoy the seclusion. The kids would enjoy as well. I'll have to do some research.

Re: Canoe Camping Clearwater and Azure lake 2009

Brings back some memories! I used to canoe camp back when I was a freshman in college. We would float down the rivers in Northern Wisconsin up by Lake Superior and duck hunt. 4 guys, 2 tents, 2 canoes and plenty of ducks. Even got snowed on a couple of times, but November will do that to you here...

Knesdad...wow now that is camping especially in November. I didn't know they made "ice breaker canoes"
