I haven't, but in the mid 60s, a neighbor of ours would remove the back seat of his car, to make room for a Shetland Pony. He'd pick it up at his ranch and bring it home for the kids to ride on the weekends.

He drove a '63 Ford Galaxie 500.

There was more room, in the back seat of those cars, than most compact cars of today have in the front and rear seating area.
