So is anyone taking their RV out on Thanksgiving?

We will be headed out to Quartzsite Az. on Friday. Friend & my son will also bring their RV's along. We will boondock at the Hi Jolly BLM area just north of town on hiway 95.

We're tailgating the Texas Tech Red Raiders vs the Texas Longhorns football game on Thanksgiving day and eating turkey dinner in a State Building parking lot just south of the stadium. The whole family will be there including my new son in-law, married to my second daughter this month. I've been given a heads up to expect a request for permission from my youngest daughter #4s boyfriend and we'll meet my oldest daughters new boyfriend for the first time!!!

Maybe one day soon I'll be blessed with a grandchild???

We have to be out Friday by noon so I reserved a space at an RV park on the San Marcos river just down I35 from the outlet malls so the girls can go Christmas shopping that weekend. Texas Red Dirt music Saturday night at Greene Hall.

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday and gets to spend time with their families!!!

We had thought about going somewhere for the weekend with the trailer, however my bride's schedule changed, she is bringing a West Coast redeye flight in to Charlotte early on Thursday morning. So we will be staying close to home this year. We have quite a few relatives nearby so we will find someone to mooch dinner off of.

It's parked in it's winter home until spring. 80X100 steel building keeps her out of the snow.

We cancelled our plans last week due to us living in ours and a living room slide acting up. We are skirted for the winter and I have finally found someone who will take extended warranties and will replace the slide mechanism at our current campground. Just a couple months lead time on the slide rails.

I never post where I'm going; I post after I return. Because of a death in the family, I alone took our camper from SC to KS, along a usual, direct way. The nights got into the 20's, so I operated with water from the tank, not hookup. The propane and the electric heater kept everything warm. After taking care of family business, I was able to have a "Thanksgiving Eve" turkey dinner with all the fixings that I prepared in the camper, for my bachelor son, and old USAF buddy in Wichita. The three of us had a great dinner, and I hit the road straight south to Texas to get away from the icy rains that came in on Thursday. I went south and then east. Along the way I was invited to Thanksgiving Dinner at the Lazy L campground in Sherman TX, and because of my military status, was welcome for free at the Cherokee Campground in Birmingham! (I returned the favor by cooking cheeseburgers on the grill for them!). All in all, a good trip, and I avoided most of the weather. Fall camping is very nice down here.
