Need warming up!

This morning when I got up at 6 am. it was -31 outside here in Regina and if you take in the wind chill it was -44. Got sitting here thinking of things that I have done to make myself warm. First thought was sitting around the campfire with a hot chocolate in one hand and a length of dowel in the other holding the Bisquick (flattened around the dowel) over the fire. The smell of that dough baking mixed with the wood and hot chocolate makes all this cold disappear. I can see the butter dripping out the end as it mixes with the jam or syrup. We are a blessed people when we have memories like that.

I almost don't have the heart to tell you that I woke up to 66 degrees this morning here in NC... then, while out riding my Goldwing, got to feeling a little warm and decided to see what the temperature was while I was cruising down the highway:

Y'all stay warm!!

25 in boulder city nv. we are running two small ceramic heaters and the fireplace heater so the trailer is quite livable. Of course I had to find an outlet that wasn't part of the 15amp all purpose circuit.

If you have the washer/dryer pre connections use that plug for one of the heaters, we had the same problem trying to running 3 electric heaters until I opened breaker panel and said hmm!

Should tell everyone that these temperatures are not normal for Regina this time of year. We might get a week of this in January and one in February but never in December, and never for this long. Would somebody please send home the people preaching global warming from their winter homes in Bermuda or NC. - they really have to experience this. Please don't forget to add your favourite campfire recipes.

Minus 20c in kamloops without the wind...unseasonable cold for December. Some snow. They say this cold snap is good for picking grapes to make ice wine..,,for me when the weather is this cold a " Hot Toddy" fits the bill.

This is a recipe from Volvosweetie ...for a tasty frozen treat.
Thanks again Volvosweetie ....

Coops

"It is when you go out side after the snow has fallen. Find a clean spot where nothing has been fill a huge bowl with the snow. Then you add 1 can of sweetened condense milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring. Then you mix it togther till you get it looking like vanilla ice cream then eat YUM. If the snow has sleet or freezing rain with it don't use it. The sleet and freezing rain makes it yucky. The lighter the snow the better it taste."
