Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

I second that. Have a great weekend everyone. I'm going next week for the first time in our new trailer to Radium. Going to spend this weekend figuring how everything works

Thanks Cooper & FlyingDutchmen! Same to you! Ours should be pretty uneventful, but we do have our Yellowstone trip coming up!

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

We stay home during the big 3 holidays; Memorial Day, Juy 4th and Labor Day. Give me camping in September and October any time!

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

We are the same, long weekends are for yard/house work. The company I work for allows me to work on the monday and take a swap day of my choice. Long weekends are just too busy for us and the weekend after is usually very quiet.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

I kinda agree about staying home during the big holidays cause there are so many people everywhere, but Memorial Day weekend is some of the best weather for camping, and I already have a site reserved on base where I work, which is close by, so don't have to worry about the traffic mess of the holiday weekend. The only bad thing is, our camper is still at the dealer, don't know if we will make it or not .

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

We have camped 14 days in May, so far this year. Weather has been spectacular. I saw this morning that our sunsset in the St. Louis area is now after 8 pm. The long days are here. Highs in the 70's part of this week, great weather!

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

We had 90 & 91 degrees this past Saturday & Sunday. 70 today. 70 & 80's for this week and upcoming weekend. It seems like it's always nice on Memorial Day Weekend when we stay home...

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

I kinda like busy/full campgrounds for some reason - makes me feel like I am not missing any of the good action. I could be weird though. Maybe in time it will lose it's appeal.

Re: Enjoy the long weekends in May

I guess I'm kinda like that in a way when it comes to being at the campgrounds, but the crowds on the roads to get there and back home I could do without. I like it when other people are out late in the night at their campsites, but almost always ends up I'm the only one that stays up when I go camping, thats my fav time of the day, set around the fire drinking some cold ones, and watching the stars.
