Anyone in the Shreveport area?

We are new Voltage owners and looking forward to getting out and enjoying the new RV. We are new to the area and would welcome any suggestions on where to camp within a couple of hours of Shreveport, LA for weekend getaways, not to mention meet a few new friends.

I'm not from the Shreveport area, but have camped a couple of places that are a few hours from you. Chicot State Park in Ville Platte is about 2½ hours from Shreveport and is a quiet, hilly, wooded campground. If you have children or prefer the "party" atmosphere, Cajun Palms RV Resort in Henderson (just outside of Lafayette) is about 3 hours away from you. They have a water park that is included in your stay. It has everything from a water playground, to water slides, to a bar all in the different pools. The best part is there is no additional fee to use the water park, and the rates are very reasonable IMHO. $40/night ($36 with Good Sam). Good luck in your travels.

I realize after reading my post that it sounds like an advertisement for Cajun Palms. I assure you that I am in no way affiliated with the campground. I'm just a regular RVer with young children that really enjoy camping there, and a parent who can appreciate it's affordable cost.

Thanks so much for the information, I will check into the parks you mentioned, we have no children but the later one seems like it could be fun.

I didn't pick up on an "ad" vibe just sounded like you really like the park. Do you have any suggestions for RV clubs in my area or how to find them?
