Not a dumb question, as I asked the same one. The one towards the rear is your generator tank.

There was a great tip about pumping fuel from the front to back tank, that as I remember was recently posted by one of the AZ guys...

The fuel that sits in the hose will go stale and discolor. It was recommended that you pump this bad gas out of the hose into a separate container before filling your generator tank so not to risk contaminating the generator fuel cell.

You can, but not me. I put diesel in that tank to use in my tow vehicle.

I never could figure that one out. I carry two five gallon fuel jugs between my tool box the the bed rail. They fit perfect. A self priming syphon hose and I am good to go. Can be used for diesel or gasoline.

I would much rather have gasoline at the pump station for the generator and the RZR.

To each his own.

I have a 60gal. Auxtank in the bed for diesel, and it gravity feeds the main tank. That adds up to almost 100 gals. Of fuel. When the main tank hits half full, I fill them both up, and should never run out of diesel. If we need to run the generator for an excessive amount of time, I am glad to have that extra capacity so the wife won't get too hot without the A\C. Keep momma happy!

Well tow vehicle gets 10 mpg. Generator seems to run for ever on the 20 gallons of fuel that's in that tank.
My Burgman I carry around gets 50+ mpg.

If my son's Victory is along it gets 35+ mpg.

So I use that extra 30 gallons of diesel for the F-350.

Desert Rat, do you have any kind of water seperator on your fueling station? As subseptible to water damage as our 6.7 high presure fuel pumps are, I would worry about condensation in these tanks.

(Sorry to OP for taking this slightly of your topic).

As I live in the very dry desert moisture is something we are very short on. So no I don't have one.
