What water pump for Voltage 3950?

Water pump is starting to take 20 seconds to prime after being off for a while then it takes 10 seconds to build pressure before shutting off.

I'd prefer to get a new one (with more pressure) then I can play around with the old one at my leisure.

Any recommendations?

Any quality 12 volt demand pump will work. Water pumps are like cars, Chevy or Ford. Shurflo, Flojet and whatever else is out there.
Just don't go to the local RV dealer to get it, search prices on the Internet first.
However, before spending the money on a new pump I think you need to discover why the pump doesn't pump and build pressure immediately. My guess is you have a loose connection on the intake side of the pump.

FWIW, it's a Chinese Xylem Flojet 11lpm (2.9gpm). Any idea what that clear plastic thing is on the input side? Is that a filter of some sort?

I think I discovered why my water flow is so low: it's not a problem with the pump. Rather it's a problem with the input hose being too long - over time it has collapsed and is near kinking completely.

When we're on city water, the collapsed pipe is under pressure so it opens. When we're on internal water, that pipe sucks from the tank and closes up.

The clear plastic thing is indeed the incoming water filter.

From what I understand you have a collapsed incoming water line. Perhaps the line is way too long and causing a bend in the line which has created the fold or kink. City pressure opens it as you say and the pumps sucks it shut so that says the pump is working as it should.
Somewhere that kink needs to be removed and then you should be good to go. It wouldn't hurt to go through all the water lines and shorten them and straighten them so the water pump has an easier time delivery the water to your appliances.

They're usually found behind the aft wall in the basement storage area.

Literally, poke your head inside the pass thru compartment on the wet bay side, remove the panel to your immediate right and you will find it right there screwed to the floor.

What water pump for Voltage 3950?

I recently had to replace my water pump, on the road, and the first go it was sucking air and wouldn't go off demand.

I had to pull it out when I got home and after reinstalling it with thread tape and the proper tools to tighten everything up, all was good.
