What is this for?

I must be blind. This valve is behind the front axle on the road side to the 3200. After 3 1/2 years today is the first time I recall ever seeing it. It's a 2" PVC gate valve. What is it for? I'm afraid to pull it open.

Picture is not that good, but it started raining and I was in a hurry.

Yep, boostme nailed it. If you don't 'dry camp' or boondock very often, you'll rarely need to use it.

Mine has one of these and a 1/2" pex with a threaded cap on it. Front tank and back?

I've been draining my freshwater tank with this valve. There was a plastic cap there before I changed it over to the ball valve.

Either that or low point drains for the plumbing system.

Typically the water tank drain will be white and have a valve of some sort on it, or if the factory cheaped out, a screw in cap. Red and Blue lines are typically low point drains for the plumbing system, you use them when you winterize to get the water out of the plumbing system to avoid freezing and expensive repairs.

In addition to the unknown mystery valve in my original post My Voltage 3200 had 3 lines with caps. I changed them all those ball valves.

These 2 drain the freshwater system.

This one drains the freshwater tank.

Correct...

As stated previously, those are your low-point drains for the black, grey, and yes... fresh water tanks. These are used when winterizing the rig, to ensure all liquids are drained from each tank.

Sure, you can use the fresh water low-point to drain the tank... but it takes a lot longer than the waste-fare dump valve.

I probably should have pointed out that a unit may have multiple low point valves. IIRC my Coleman had 3 low point as well as the freshwater tank valve. On my current motor home all three are clustered together and a PITA to get to. I plan to convert them to electric.

Yes, my 3950 has a red and white near the utilities compartment, like yours. I assume those are the low-point drains. On mine, the other 1/2" white one is another fresh water drain, not a grey water drain as someone else has suggested.

Careful with ball valves, they will freeze and the plastic rarely do.
