I think Dutchmen, and probably other manufacturers, totally stretch the truth on every one of their specs. The load capacity numbers are probably based on loading a trailer that doesn't have any interior walls, fixtures, or tanks of any type. The reality is that if you put in some water, lp, fuel, food, and a toy or two the trailer is going to be overloaded. Bullbuff, the only comforting thing that I could pass on is that I've been running this way for a couple of years now, on g rated tires, with no problems. Just keep your fingers crossed.
Have not weighed mine empty. Weighted the loaded combo and truck by itself. Puts me loaded at 18,200 no food or water and gen fuel half full. Other empty. 3600 on the pin. I don't remember the advertised empty weight, but I think it would have been pretty close

Weighed my 3200 after loading up, food clothing gear ect., the first time with two motorcycles, a FJR 1300 and a Multistrada in the garage, about 30-40 gallons of water and fuel.
Weight of the trailer was a little over 18000 lbs which is 1500 over the listed gross. It seems that I can't put anything in the garage if I want to stay anywhere near gross weight.
I am glad I got the 17.5's. They give some piece of mind as they are good for 4800 lbs a piece.
Front axle of the trailer was 7200 lbs rear was 8100 lbs which is certainly not ideal.
Seems even the 3200 should have 3 axles.
