I am not at my trailer but I need to purchase a new anode for my V3305 water heater. Does anyone know what brand it is? Is it Suburban?

Two things:

One, what makes you think you need a new anode? Most modern water heaters don’t use them... including the one in my 2013 model.

Two, mine is made by Atwood... which has since been bought/taken over by Lippert.

Just remove your anode and take it to your RV parts place for a replacement.

I have an anode and it's the short one. I replace it every year.

I explained the sulphur smell to the local RV shop and he said is sounds like the anode is consumed. So I should replace it. The trailer is just over 3 years old.
Problem is, I am not near the trailer so I cannot go look at it prior to swinging into the RV center. Just thought I would verify the manufacturer so see if there is indeed an anode. So I cane be prepared to swap it when I get back across town.

Trying to predict what the manufacturer used at any given time is a guess. You may have one of two different makes of water heaters so you have a 50/50 guessing which one.

Don't guess or you are just wasting money. My 14' does not have an anode either. For what it's worth mine is a Atwood GC10A-4E 10 Gallon Hot Water Heater Gas/Electric combo.



If you smell sulfur, clean and flush per Atwood instructions and it will clear. Good luck and keep us posted.

Atwood uses an aluminum water tank so it does not need an anode. Suburban water heaters use a steel tank so they require an anode.

A quick update. And many thanks for the information those of you with constructive responses provided.

Turns out the water heater in my 2016 V3305 is an Atwood, so it has an aluminum tank and no anode. So that makes sense. I wound up cleaning it out using the vinegar cleanout process and after running a few tank fulls through, it's all cleaned out and the sulphur smell is gone.

I also did the bleach cleanout on the main water tank for good measure and it's all cleaned out now as well. I don't know why the water heater tank started to stink of sulphur, but at least the online tutorials I found for the anode replacement helped me zero in on the water heater, so all in all, I got the result I needed.

For anyone interested in why my local RV service guy thought the anode might be the source of the problem (with no manufacturer info to work from, BTW), the following link may give you some perspective. Last year my hot water had that sulfur smell. A flush of the tank and a new anode and all is well. The anode was pretty well used up. Note that until then, I kept water in the tank 24/7. Not any more.

I believe they are all interchangeable. Same size opening & thread pattern.. Two different lengths and types of material used last time I looked for one! Mine is probably about due again also.
