Voltage V3005

I purchased a new V3005 last year and all was well during the first season. This year I have a small leak on the black tank valve which I cant seem to stop. The cable control is stiff to operate and I suspect is not fully closing the valve. If this is not the case then the valve has gone bad. Anyway, I need to get to the black valve to inspect. How is it best to gain access? Through the back wall of the front storage locker seems to be held with screws. can I get access through here? Taking the under belly apart seems like a big job. I am considering electric valves, is this the best fix to get away from the cable actuator as it seems this will give trouble in future. I am new to RV's so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I installed electric Valterra valves on the front two tank this spring due to a valve going bad as well - very easy actually to do - I just pulled down enough of the underbelly to get a good look and measurement of where the valves were and cut a flap in the material to access it. I have the other two valves on the workbench and will be installed this fall. Very happy with the electric valves. Pirate on this forum has a good write up on the install with pictures and great description.

A cheapie temporary fix is the Valterra extension valves, depending on where you're leaking. I'm waiting for Don to come down to Florida and install my electric valves.

LOL! You have a long wait! I don't go down that way except the middle two weeks of April! Agree on the extension valves. That's what I did until I installed the electrics. Even after, the manual ones are still there - cheap insurance!

Ironically, I'm there until the middle two weeks. West Palm Beach area. We'll have to meet up (I won't put you to work!), as I owe you a beer for the pull handle.

LOL! Have a buddy that lives and runs a heavy equipment company in West Palm. We will be in Daytona Beach Shores

My black valve is toast as well...using the extension valve for now. Gonna dump it on the dealer...no pun intended.

From the under belly is the only way to get to it. Mine are stiff but seem to work. I put a valve on the main connect location just in case.
