Voltage Aluminum Rims - 110 PSI ok?
Our new toy hauler came with the Westlake 235/80/16 E rated tires (3500 lb. rating at 80 PSI). Thinking about upgrading to G-rated tires which require 100-110 PSI. Are these Voltage aluminum rims rated to handle these higher PSI's? The pic (not of our unit) shows the same rims we have. Thanks!

I upgraded to load range G tires too and had the same concerns. I couldn't find anything on the wheels other than the max load rating of 3960lbs. I'm only running 90psi in the new tires since they are rock solid at that pressure and so far no signs of wear, and run pretty cool.

My rims are tagged 110 on the back side.

That's good to hear. Mine didn't have anything other than model number and max load on the back side. There were some symbols in the cast too, but they didn't make any sense to me. Where did you find that marking? I've been known to look at things and not see them.

Ditto, that's good to hear. Do you have the same black aluminum rims I showed in my opening post for this thread? Thx!

3960 lb rating
I spent a month on this and found out that "if" the rims are stamped 3960 and do not have the 110 psi stamp ... they are actually rated at 110 psi. Most have the psi stamp, the rims on my Voltage 3200 did not. I put Salun tires on mine and run them at 105 psi.

Awesome, Thanks for the follow up. That's good news for me.

I have the same wheels as you do and run the G-rated Sailums at 110 lbs. no issue at all. Make sure to upgrade your valve stems too.

I called high spec wheel company and 110 is perfectly fine on the 8 spoke series 7 rims.. and wheels are actually certified to withstand bolt in steel valve stem failure psi of 200 psi... just to ease some minds out there.

I also run Sailums at 110 and have put over 15K miles on them, they run and look new still

That's good to hear. The aluminum rims on our V2951 only had the 3960 lb. rating stamp. Not aware of any 4,000 lb. rated, 80 PSI tires, so I I took a leap of faith and assumed that was a roundabout way for the manufacturer to say it was ok to use 110 PSI.
In any case, purchased four all-steel, G-rated, 4080 lb., 110 PSI tires, along with metal valve stems. As it turns out I only have about 2,300 lbs. on each tire (9,200 lbs. total axle weight, CAT scaled). Tried 110 PSI for a few hundred miles. With 110 PSI only the very center of the tire was contacting the pavement. Lowered it to 85-90 PSI. Now I'm getting much better tire wear, plus I would think it would be easier on the suspension, too.
For those using G-rated tires with tire loads closer to 3,000 - 3,500 lbs. (with 7k axles), IMO, 110 PSI is probably a more appropriate tire pressure to use.

Best I can figure is 2,660 on each tire with triple axle (3905)when fully loaded..I believe stock tire was stamped 2800 limit... no wonder these things blow out so often!
