Voltage 3800 subwoofer

Are you tired of your subwoofer sounding like crap? Vibrating the bathroom accessories to the floor or more bass in the bedroom than in the livingroom?

That was my problem and it was buggin me until I took the necessary owner action to once again clean up $hitty workmanship from the factory.

I pulled the top portion of the fireplace bricks and discovered the sub sitting directly on top of the fireplace. A hollow cavity like the fireplace and the larger cavity the fireplace sits in does nothing for bass response.

They did attempt to suspend the sub with two screws into the ultra thin Luan wall system. Either the screw pulled free or they needed to try and use three more screws to hold the heavy sub off the top of the fireplace. Still, the sound would and been bouncing around inside the wall cavity so I studied and measured and cut 2 inch construction foam board to encase the sub and to separate it from the fireplace.

The pictues shows where one screw was used and pulled loose, the foam board surrounding the sub and the finished product.

The bass is cleaner and projects outward into the living space and very little into the bathroom. The work did improve the sound quality overall and now my stuff stays put on the vanity top.

Hope it works. Just putting it in an enclosed area defeats the purpose. no place for air to displace.(poor design by THOR)

Cool idea. How were the faux bricks above the fireplace attached?

Look for the nails along the outside edges of that panel. Work slowly so as not to break the bricks.

Poor design by Thor, surely you jest.

The brick panel isn't that thick so the sound waves travel through it, not as good as sitting on the floor but only so much space.
