If you have a sound bar mounted above the TV, you have to remove that first (on my 3950 anyway), then TV lifts straight up.

Yep, pop the buttons hiding the screw heads off of the sound bar... remove, and the lift the tv.

ATCguy,

Yup, that's how the TV in our 2014 Voltage Epic 3800 is mounted. I didn't have to remove the Sony sound bar to remove the TV.

Removed it to install a swivel mount so that we could swing the TV out so the front recliner would have a more "straight on" view of the screen.

Used this mount for one real reason...the wall mounting plate is substantial. I was able to lag bolt it to two studs and on the right side use to butterfly bolts through the paneling.

Thus the TV swings out and pivots smoothly, its stable. Only issue is the TV is about 1" outside of the original "framed" enclosure. But makes it very easy to check cables and doesn't affect the looks.

Just a thought,

Pirate

Yep, I replaced my stock TV with a bigger one... and have it mounted with an articulating arm also. Much better viewing angle.
