Tire pressures and lug nut torque

So I can't seem to find any data on what pressure I should run in the six tires on my 2014 Voltage Epic 3800. I have a welding shop, so I just got a small nitrogen bottle and regulator set and keep it in the rear storage area.

But what tire pressure are folks running?

What torque on the lug nuts?

Thanks,

Pirate

I would run the tires at max pressure which is on the sidewall of the tire. I have 17.5 tires so I run them at 110 psi As Voltages have 1/2" lug studs torque should be in the 105-110 range.

Hey Pirate - agree with DesertRat on the torque, but I will say I went tighter and checking often. I checked torque at dealer and again at home after a 250 mile trip and they were fine. Our third trip out we were setting up and I noticed a wheel stud missing from the right rear tire - yes broke off. I decided to the check them all - every lug on the right rear and right intermediate were loose - seems we had a time bomb waiting to go off. I am talking finger loose. I put the torque wrench down and went with German torque - goot-n-tight. Have checked them every trip since and not one has been loose.

Just an FYI... check your rims for maximum load and pressure ratings. We had one on an old farm trailer that was under rated, not sure where it came from, but it failed.

Maxxis has a good tire pressure chart on their website. In some cases higher inflation is not better, it can beat things apart. I doubt that is much of an issue with the monster trailers though.

I'll double check when I get home from work but I believe it to be a 3/4" socket.
That is a 7k axle with 1/2" studs like the Voltage has. My Teton has 7k axles but has 9/16" studs so it takes a 13/16" socket
