Taps .. open or closed ?

Crazy question .. just finished winterizing my 3200 .. once I've run antifreeze through the system and turned off water pump do I go through trailer and open all the taps or leave them closed for the winter ??

Actually I think my wife goes in behind me and turns them off.

Hmmm...

I winterize by draining the hot water heater, rotating the valve to bypass the water heater.

Then screw brass fitting into the city water line connection, that has a Schrader valve, opening all the faucets, and blowing compressed air through the system to remove all the water. Same for the on-board water system.

Leave all the faucets open.

The pour some RV anti-freeze into all the drains.

And walk away.

Am I missing something?

how did any water get back in the taps after I blew them out?

I drain the water heater and use compressed air into the "city" connection to blow all the water out of the system. Make sure the fresh water tank is empty with valve left open. I have always left the faucets open. RV antifreeze in all the traps. Haven't had any issues in 10 years of owning campers. A lot of guys use the RV antifreeze pumped into the system which works great too. Hope this helps.

Sure glad this is a subject I know nothing about. I have never had to do it in my 30+ years of having RV's Must have something to do with were I live.
Still in the high 90's around here.

Live in cold country and use my rv all winter long. Just makes not to have pressure in the lines just in case. Leave them open

Surely it isn't something to "plan for". But if faucets were left closed, and there was water in the lines...

Isn't one of the advantages of PEX tubing that it will expand with freezing, and then return to size without damage?

Just wondering if what I have heard in the past is true.

Don't want to find out. In my last hauler I drained water heater and drained lines from low point drains then added antifreeze in p traps. Have seen 15 below here no problem. With voltage wintering system to easy to add antifreeze to system and p traps and I sleep well at night...

Pex can take a bit of a freeze, the fittings and faucets cannot. Been there and have replaced more than split fitting and a couple of outside showers.
