Smell under sink/washer hookup

Hi all, anybody have advice on this one? Have had a grey (or black) tank smell under sink sometimes. I think it's coming from the washer/dryer termination that isn't hooked up yet. Thinking the cap isn't on right. I tightened the cap down a couple trips ago by hand and cannot even budge it with wrench now, thinking about cutting off and recapping, but maybe getting a washer and dryer this year so I'm not sure i want to do that. Have any of you installed the washer and dryer yourself and does anybody have input on the smell and a possible reason. Thanks.

They make a rubber cap with a hose clamp on it that could be tried if you believe that is the source.

We have had a smell in the past under our sink...coming from the tank vent, which terminates there...I have used either bleach or Happy Camper in the tank, filled it up and let it sit over night... We full time and leave the tank open mostly, which allows food to lay in the tank.

So they vent the tank inside under the sink?

We had a similar issue in our 330 rls. I installed rubber cap with clamp on washer drain, also changed 'studor, vents under kitchen sink and vanity with quality vent from home depot. Our issue better, only time any smell is if showering with tanks almost full, then we crack a window and no smell!

It's probably not a true open vent under the sink. It's a one way valve that allows the sink to drain, the true vent is on down the line where it vents to the outside.

RVs and mobile homes have used these for years where a roof penetration is impractical.

I have a couple of these on my mobile home (shhh everybody thinks it is a modular )

They do pass odors, some are of better quality than others.
