Shake, Rattle, and Roll

Coming home from Carlsbad, NM we were stranded for hours on I-10 due to a burning 18-wheeler. My wife and granddaughters were in the Voltage, during the wait, with the generator and a/c running. When the interstate finally opened up they stayed in there while I drove the rig 60 miles to our home. BTW, this is legal to do in AZ, perhaps not smart, but legal.

Anyway, to the point. Arriving home my wife commented what a noisy, jostling ride it was back there. She wondered what held the trailer together as it seemed it would shake itself apart. She added she would never ride in there again as it was so uncomfortable.

Could it be some of the tires need balancing?

Definitely doesn't sound right to me. On occasion, I leave my paper towel holder and a few other items in a group on the kitchen counter when I travel... and not once have they ever not been right where I left them when I arrive at my destination. Sure, they may have slid a little bit, but I've never found anything on the floor.

If my rig bounced & shook like you're saying yours does, I'm quite sure that wouldn't be the case.

Like Tom, we usually leave stuff on the counters....at first, by accident, then on purpose. Our Keurig rides on the counter as well as all the spices and what not behind the stove. I would check into balancing as suggested? What tires do you have? For balancing, I have the 18 wheeler sized DynaBeads. They balance the tires every time they start rolling (usually 35mph and above)...I also used them on my motorcycle when I had it, those beads can be installed through the valve stem....

Have you ever ridden in a regular class c motorhome? I've ridden in a couple and it is exactly as you describe your Voltage. Everything rattles, squeaks, and shakes.

They were in the bedroom over the hitch and the interstate is lousy with bumps and such.
