Schwintek - In-wall slide rebuild kit

Slide room locked up and busted this morning. I was able to order a Schwintek rebuild kit through my local dealer and I'm rebuilding it this afternoon. Pics attached, more to follow. Click image for larger version

Hell yeah... considering the tolerances on these things, I'd never even attempt it. Can't wait to see all the photos, and hope for great results.

After 7 years, the main LR slide on my 3200 is beginning to show severe signs of needed repair. The floor.. though not wet, or even damp... has begun to sag in a couple of places. And the edge by the forward side-wall has dropped nearly ½", allowing the wall to shift with it. So much so that all of the window valences have broken loose, and the lower exterior fender trim buckles in spots when the slide is extended.

I know I'm going to have to take it to a shop for a major repair soon... and allow them to completely remove the slide, repair/rebuild it, and reinstall it. But, considering I"m full-time, it's a matter of logistics. Gotta find a shop that I'd trust somewhere, and getting them to schedule it for a 2-to-3 day job.

Thankfully the unit continues to move in & out as advertised (with lots of creaks & pops)... but I don't figure that will continue much longer. At this point I'm just hoping the floor doesn't one day decide to just fail & collapse while I'm sitting on the sofa.

Yikes, those motors don't look very robust. It's a miracle my slide hasn't died yet.

The motor is not using the problem unless they get wet or a wire comes off.

The problem with in-wall slide systems are that they require such close tolerances. I will take a measurement later today to show you what I mean. The measurements are + or - 1/8th of an inch.

For an old carpenter, that's a mile off. Good to know the motors are sufficient.

Something tells me the OP has a little more experience in fixing and building stuff than the rest of us—or at least me!

I consider myself pretty handy but this is a job I wouldn’t attempt.

Nice work OP.

This is cool. Had one side rebuilt under warranty at the beginning of the year took two months to get parts

How long did parts take to get and if you don’t mind how much

By the time the other side goes out I am sure my unit will be out of warranty.

The tech that repaired mine was no genius and 1/8 inch tolerances seem doable
I’ll be right behind you when the other side craps out

Looking forward your posts

Bill

The rebuild parts are stocked. Keystone shipped the parts the same day I had the dealer ordered them. I'm local so there was no shipping charges. I use a service center in Goshen to order my parts. They can ship anywhere cause Keystone drop ships the parts for them.

I gots one coming up...

My bedroom slide ~50" is acting up. As soon as the barn gets built it is coming out for a rebuild.
